Joan M. Drum, 92, of Johnson City passed into the arms of the Lord at her home February 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. While we mourn her passing, we rejoice that after years of declining health, vision and hearing, she is now fully restored and perfected, living in the presence of her Savior - a blessing Joan had long prayed for.
Joan is survived by her cherished family, her daughters Sharon Truax, Bonny Kie, Dawn (Robert) Lavers and Toni Collis; 9 grandchildren Jessica (Chris) Ames, David (Janelle) Truax, Cpt. Paul (Jenean) Truax, Brandon Kie, Kevin (Yohana) Kie, Tyler Kie, Ryan Collis, Jordan (Cole) Enright and Lt. Caleb Collis; 5 great-grandchildren Eli, Ava, Leeanna, Zoe and Natasha, many nieces and nephews and 3 dear friends Lucille, Cindy and Christy.
Joan was the youngest of 10 children born to Elmer and Virginia (nee Orce) Morgan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 9 siblings: Henry, Myra, Mildred, Lina, Doris, Audrey, Beverly, Dawn and Don.
Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Johnson City and was a devoted Christian who prayed daily. She possessed a generous spirit, and gave unselfishly to those in need.
A service celebrating Joan's life will be held 2:00 pm March 9, 2024 at the First Baptist Church 1321 Reynolds Road Johnson City. Friends may call at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Following the service there will be a reception in the church hall. She was buried privately at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
